This Thursday, the 28th of March, Albion and twelve other study associations are hosting the third annual Faculty Symposium inside the Lipsius building! This year’s theme is Humanities Matter!

Board Aeonian is looking for its successors for the year 2019-2020! In addition to the information mail we sent out a few weeks ago, we’d like to announce that we are considering expanding the number of possible board positions with the position of an Assessor PR + Intern. This board member would be in charge of the social media networks and promotion and would steer the committees in the right direction by checking up on them and helping them where necessary. If we decide to follow through with this, it would mean that the next Chair and Secretary will have a less heavy workload, and of course, it means that there’s an extra position to consider! However, if you’re not sure yet which position you want, that’s fine too!
> How: apply by sending your CV and a short motivation letter in which you specify your desired board position to firstname.lastname@example.org before the 1st of April, after which we will invite you for a non-binding talk!
That’s right, on the 4th of April you are all invited to release your inner happy little clouds as we will spend the afternoon painting! Come follow a Bob Ross tutorial, paint a still life or just paint whatever you want and enjoy the wonderful act of creating. We will make sure that there’s paint and paper and all you have to do is make sure you’re not wearing your most fancy outfit. Let’s get creative, and mostly, let’s have fun!
> When: Thursday, April 4th, from 18:30
> Where: Lipsius 2.27
If you have some time (or paint) on your hands, make sure to stop by for the Monthly Drinks on Thursday the 4th of April! We start at 20:00 in Café de Keyzer to consume part of our daily fluid intake, because there’s only one thing more fun than staying hydrated: staying hydrated in good company!
> When: Thursday, April 4th, from 20:00
> Where: Café de Keyzer
The third edition of the Angler will be all about LGBTQ+ and inclusion. You’re invited to write a short story of around a 1000 words and send it to them, so that they can publish their favourite story in the upcoming issue! It would be nice if the theme is incorporated in some way, but they do accept short stories that do not have elements of LGBTQ+ and/or inclusion in them. Feeling inspired? Send your stories to email@example.com
, and you might see yours in print!
> The deadline for sending in your short story is the 24th of March!
As soon as the mid-terms are over, we are here for you and we know what you need: comfort food! Bring your favourite snacks to this High Tea-ish event, or bake something yourself and join the Bake Off competition! The winners of this contest will get a sweet surprise… Also, I just googled ‘comfort food synonym’ and got confronted with ‘meat and potatoes’. So just so you know, anything’s welcome.
> When: Friday, March 22nd, from 13:30 onwards
> Where: upstairs in Café De Keyzer
As the mid-terms are coming near and you may or may not be spending all your hours in the UB, you should not forget that it’s important to take breaks from studying and to take care of yourself. With this activity, your self-care will be a walk in the park! That is, we are literally going for a walk in the park. Join us on this stroll through the Leidse Hout park and for some hot chocolate in a cafe afterwards. Reward yourself with this healthy study break!
> When: Wednesday, March 13th, 15:45
> Where: we gather at 15:45 in front of the Starbucks at Leiden Centraal, and expect to be back before dinner time!
