How to Succeed in Life: What to do with your BA English

“I didn’t even like Jane Austen and now I have to choose study paths”; does this situation also apply to you? Albion will be organizing an informational afternoon filled with talks and a workshop about specialization during your BA English! Internships and networking on LinkedIn will be definitely be discussed at this event, taking place on May 9th at 17:00. Also, since thinking about the future can make you feel hungry, there will be free dinner!

Afternoon High Tea

It’s tea time! On Monday the 7th of May Albion will hold an afternoon high tea together with the study association of China Studies SVS! That afternoon we will make sure that there are many different kinds of tea to choose from, as well as some treats. Also, you are of course welcome to bring your own favourite tea! The event will start at 15.00 and it will take place in the Arsenaal building. Make sure to join us for a fun time and a good cup tea!

LEF Play: The Three Musketeers

TV Show: RTL Late Night

Another trip to a late night show is coming up! On Wednesday the 2nd of May we will be going to the live broadcast of RTL Late Night in Amsterdam. The costs of this event will be €6,50. B-eh?-owulf: European Epic and Medievalism in Canadian Literature

On Thursday the 19th of April at 17.00 our own Dr. Murchison will give a lecture on the medieval influences within Canadian literature! The lecture will also include a short introduction into the wide field of Canadian literature. The dresscode is plaid or denim on denim. More information on the place of the event will follow soon! A little bird also told us there will be maple syrup cookies and ginger ale, in order to make the Canadian experience more complete… Thus, make sure not to miss this fun and exciting event and join us on the 19th of April!

Movie Night: the Meaning of Life

Do you also believe British humour is one of the greatest ‘inventions’ on this planet? Then, this event is perfect for you! On Tuesday the 17th of April Albion will screen Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life in order to celebrate the humour, critique on society and fourth wall breaking that is Monty Python. More information will follow on the exact time and place of the event. We hope to see you there!

The Translation of Classics into Motion Pictures

In collaboration with Sophia Aeterna, the study association of Greek & Latin Studies, Albion will organise a lecture on classical period references in movies! The lecture will take place on Wednesday the 11th of April at 17.00 in Lipsius 147 and will be given by our well respected Professor Liebregts. Are you just as excited as we are? Faculty Symposium: the Myth of High and Low Culture

On Thursday the 5th of April the annual Faculty Symposium will take place! The event will last from 10:15 in the morning until 20.30 in the evening at the Lipsius Building. The day will consist of many interesting lectures on the topic of ‘The myth of high and low culture’, given by different speakers. Trip to the Efteling

Are you in for an enchanting adventure and visit a ‘world of wonders’? On Friday the 23rd of March, we will travel to the most magical place of the Netherlands: the Efteling theme park! We will explore fairy-tale forest, go on crazy attractions and generally just have a good time.
